Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez (born Sara Ramirez) is a Mexican American musician and popular actress. Her family was home-schooled by her mom and her father, in USA. Her childhood was filled with racist taunts and felt unloved. The confidence started to build in the ninth grade when she appeared in an audition and was highly praised by the judges for her vocal ability. Not only did she gain confidence because of the experience however, she also re-evaluate her plans for her career. In 1992 she graduated with her degree from New York's Julliard School. At the age of 23 she began her professional career in Broadway in the Paul Simon musical The Capeman. Then, aged 23, her movie debut was You've Got Mail. However her greatest breakthrough came when she appeared in the character of The Lady of The Lake in the very first Broadway performance of Spamalot winning not just her the Tony Award for her performance as well as a lot of critical praise. Later that year, as Callie Torres on Grey's Anatomy on ABC her role was given greater fame. She is known as a performer and released her own single and an extended show. Also, she's an activist and works hard to protect LGBT rights.
